How do I use a .bsg file?

2-cilinder steam engine

uploaded by oziboy 1 year ago

To give a rough idea of how a steam engine should work, resembles the stirling engine though there is nothing to cool it down, therefore it just removes the heat and makes it so that the water cannons don't push at full power.
The spinning thing up on the top is the flywheel, this makes sure that the cilinders can be pushed back while the water cannons are running.
So it pushes with full power, maintains almost the same speed whilst retracting at the same time the water cannons turn to water instead of steam, basically.

How to use:
1) Press Y to start the flamethrowers
2) Press C once to get the flywheel spinning with the cannons

I attached something resembling a clock.
Well, not really because the minute arm spins twice for the hour arm to do one full round so basically it's awful and messed up.
For a real clock that would be 12 rounds of the minute arm to get a full round on the hour arm.
I could get the right ratio but I wouldn't have any idea how to get the time right, as in, it won't run correctly at all with real time.

I might make a more compact one which can be implemented in vehicles.

Have fun and feel free to use in your projects!

Now that I see it, I meant stirling-ish engine, a steam engine works different

If i can give you some advice:
- your linkages to the crank are weak and should be in sync, but arent bc of that type of joint.
- this is actually a singe cylinder since they are pushing at the same time
- the size man! (my last engine design was massive too)

Love the clock!

check out a much smaller similar design that uses a flame thrower to regulate steam force: http://www.besiegedownloads.com/machine/30665

Keep building! Love people coming up with new stuff!

Thanks! I'll check it out.

For the cylinders, I realised I should've put them on the same joint so that it would run more smoothly rather than setting all force on two joints at the same time in one round.

Hehe and maybe get the size fixed :P

Sry my engenuity, But, whats basically a engine?its one thing that use steam and gears (etc.) To make a thing rotate, like, without using auto rotating things ( i mean powereds Wheels etc.)??????
Plz

Basically yes, and something that uses pistons

Basically making something turn as smooth as possible with as low loss as possible

You guys don't have to worry about making the vehicle, I'll make it

Just make sure the engine isn't like hell and doesn't ruin the vehicle because then you're disqualified

For the challenge of course

I don't have mind to make a engine, yeah, i've tried, but it was so slow, and just worked 1 time. (Literally, i touché backspace 2 times and it don't worked anymore ;P)
