How do I use a .bsg file?

Modded realistic (and working) V8 engine [WIP]

uploaded by oziboy 2 years ago

Update version 1.0.1, performance upgrades, runs smoother

I decided I'd make it run as smooth as possible before even finishing it, I don't want to waste time doing something I'll have to rebuild later.
This is as close I can get regarding smoothness.

Valves are shifted accordingly to the distance of the hinges placed as the shaft, 180° ignition is added, too.

Next step: add two more cilinders

Seriously though, i wouldt remove the spring and position a sliders parallel to that so you arent robbing your power with a spring

the springs don't really do that much of a drag, I set it to 0

This one is seriously hard though, it's like programming, whenever I fix something something else breaks

That's why I don't have all 8 cilinders yet, I can build it quickly otherwise

Right now I have this:
Imagine this is the engine, numbers represent cilinders
8, 7
6, 5
4, 3
2, 1

3 has a small problem where it's supposed to rotate in the opposite direction and somehow gives me an headache by not doing what I want, 1 2 and 4 are working though

I forgot to ask, can you upload an example because I don't get it ;-;

Remember this, you are using a mod to place everything at 45 degrees, but your "cylinders" are at 90 to each other. Dont mod, just make it like and l and then turn it sideways and lock into place with grabber. Kinda like my V8

I'll rebuild it once I'm done, the mod is just slightly easier having it rotated 45°

Just as I said that last comment I fixed cilinder number 3 so I have 4 to go! :D

the above comment should say "make it like an 'L' " meaning vertical and horizontal pistons then rotate it after you hit space with a quick mechanism and have auto grabbers ready to hold it in position. ;)

Updated version:
I'm not really into the grabber thing but I'll do it, but I'm going to finish the modded version first

Actually, I tried doing it vertical but for some reason I discontinued the unmodded build because I couldn't get the second gear right
I don't remember why I put it there in the first place haha

And thanks, I get it now

No prob! I only like the grabber thing bc i dont modd. editing a .bsg file in notepad is ok, but i dont like modding. feel like cheating.
